The Leverhulme Trust

The Heritage for Global Challenges Research Centre is generously supported by The Leverhulme Trust, with substantial funding provided by a Leverhulme International Professorship awarded to Professor Emma Waterton in 2021. Established in 1925, the Leverhulme Trust aims to encourage new approaches that may establish or reshape a field of study and so transform our understanding of a significant contemporary topic. The Leverhulme International Professorship scheme, first awarded in 2020, is designed to enable universities to recruit high-level research leaders from around the world to fill strategically important positions in the UK. Grants are for a period of five years, with Emma’s Professorship running from 2022 to 2027.
